Body of woman gives new twist to recovery of bodies of 4 kids

Lakhisarai: The incident of recovery of bodies of four children including two boys and two girls took another turn on Thursday when police recovered the body of a woman, who they claimed was the mother of four kids, from the same spot.

It may be mentioned here that  bodies of four kids in age group of four years to seven year were recovered close to a village pond near Kiul-Bichwey main road under Town police station, Lakhisarai,  on Wednesday morning. As the news of recovery of bodies of children spread in the locality, a large crowd gathered on the spot. Rumour mills churned throughout the day with different stories coming out. On getting information, the Town police had reached the spot and sent the bodies for autopsy.

Town police station SHO Rajesh Ranjan said on Thursday that the deceased woman had been identified as Lalita Devi, a native of village Hathiya under Chandradeep police station in Jamui district. He said that Lalita’s family members (mayka wale) reached here and identified her body. The SHO said that she is mother of the four kids, whose bodies were recovered from the same spot on Wednesday. It seems to be case of suicide, he added.

SDPO (Sadar), Lakhisarai, Pankaj Kumar said that Lalita had left her husband’s house with her children. Prima facie, it seems that Lalita had left her husband’s house after quarrelling with him, he said.
