Patna: Bihar BJP on Sunday suspended its MLC from Siwan Tunnaji Pandey, who was arrested by Government railway police at Hajipur early this morning in Poorvanchal Express train at Sarai station on Muzaffarpur-Hajipur section. A minor girl has alleged the MLC molested her and tried to drag her to the bathroom in the air-conditioned coach .
The girl was travelling from Howrah to Gorakhpur in second A/C coach with her parents. She was occupying berth no 46 and the MLC was on berth no 43. Pandey had boarded the train at Durgapur station. The girl (12 year)’s father Vijay Prakash Pandey has business in Thailand. In the FIR lodged with GRP, he alleged the MLC not only misbehaved with his daughter but also tried to drag her to the bathroom of the coach. She screamed when the MLC touched her and told her father about the incident. The escort party in the train was informed by the father of the minor girl who in turn informed the GRP at Hajipur.
The MLC was disembarked at Hajipur and taken into custody. A case under Protection of children from sexual offences Act, 2012, has been registered against the MLC, a liquor trader of North Bihar.
Sanjay Singh, Officer Incharge of Hajipur GRP, said the legislator had tried to molest the girl in the running train and has been arrested. The gerl and her family members too deboarded the train at Hajipur and left for Gorakhpur by road.
Meanwhile, the BJP suspended the MLC from the party and a show cause notice has been sent to him, party vice -president Sanjay Mayukh said. Leader of opposition in Bihar legislative council Sushil Kumar Modi, said Pandey may be expelled from the party after inquiry. Pandey was elected MLC from Siwan Local Bodies constitutency in June 2015 as BJP candidate .
