Ranchi (Jharkhand) : Although JMM-Congress-RJD alliance inflicted a demoralising defeat on the ruling BJP in the Jharkhand Assembly elections on December 23, 2019, winning 47 seats, the BJP secured 33.37 % votes compared to JMM’s 18.7 %. The Congress Party secured 13.9 % votes while the AJSU Party got 8.1%.

The BJP won only 25 seats in 2019 Assembly polls with 33.37 % vote share. It had won 37 seats in 2014 Assembly polls with 31.26 % votes.

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) had won 19 seats in 2014 polls with a vote share of 20.43 %. In 2019, the party won 30 seats but its vote share dropped to 18.72 per cent. The Congress Party won 16 seats and RJD one. Congress improved both its number of seats and vote share. It had won 9 seats in 2014 with 10.26 % votes.
