Sasaram : Employees of Bihar State Co-operative Marketing Union Limited (Biscomaun) at Bikramganj in Rohtas district have not received their salary for the last 10 years. They may not get their salary even during Durga Puja this year too as over Rs 2 crore is due with the State Food Corporation (SFC) for the last 10 years.

Manager, Biscomaun, Bikramganj, M N Khan said that SFC, Rohtas, had taken at least 17 godowns of the Biscomaun at Bikramganj on rent and the payment of salary to the employees is paid from rent but the SFC, Rohtas, has not paid rent of the godowns for the last 10 years resulting in non-payment of salary to the employees. He said that despite several written and verbal request to the District Manager, SFC, to clear the rent due, it has not been cleared. The SFC has not renewed the rent agreement either, Khan added. He said  that neither the employees have been paid their salary nor the godowns could be repaired due to non-payment of rent.

District Manager, SFC, Rohtas, Mandan Mishra, said that contract of the godowns should have been renewed earlier by the officials but it could not be done due to some unavoidable reason. He said that contract of the godowns will be renewed very soon. Mishra said that he had written to the department for the release of fund and as soon as it is received the rent dues would be cleared.
