Sasaram : Bikramganj, a Sub-division of Rohtas district, does not have a single bus stand though the sub-division was created 40 year back. The bus stand of Dehri-on-Sone, another sub-division of  Rohtas district which came into existence after creation of Bikramganj sub-division, has been given a facelift for the second time. A bus stand has come up at Nasariganj under Bikramganj sub-division though.

About one  hundred buses take off from Bikramganj for Patna, UP and Jharkhand daily but in the absence of a bus stand and shed, the passengers have to face a lot of problems. The conductors stop buses at Tenduni Chowk causing traffic problems. The area where the buses are parked illegally has no basic amenities like light, lavatory especially for woman passengers, urinal and drinking water.

Executive Officer, Nagar Parishad, Bikramganj, Suresh Ram said that proposal for bus stand was  brought a few times at the meetings of the Nagar Parishad but every time the proposal was postponed for want of land. He said that the bus stand will  be constructed as soon as land for the purpose was made available.
