Samastipur :  Four  criminals  riding two motorcycles  reached Tazpur  Branch of State Bank of India  (SBI) under Tazpur police station (PS) in
Samastipur  District in North Bihar  on May 19, 2021, and looted Rs 7. 70 lakh cash from the cash counter at gun point in broad daylight and escpaed unchallenged . The  criminals entered the bank branch around 11 am after it opened on the day,  according to police sources.

SDPO, Samastipur, Pritish Kumar, reached  the bank with police force  within no time after getting information and  started  preliminary  investigation into the   bank dacoity.  He said  the  bank cashier told him that  they opened the  bank as usual at 10,30 am they were dealing with  11 customers. Suddenly, two armed  criminals  overpowered him at gun point while the rest two criminals looted cash  from the counter.They  assaulted  the bank employees also  and asked them to
remain silent.

The SDPO said that police were investigating the incident and  raids are on to arrest  criminals. According to  Bank employees, Rs 14 lakh cash was lying under the  cash counter but it was not looted as the criminals  did not  spot it .
