Motihari : Three armed robbers looted Rs 5,77 lakh cash at gun point in broad daylight on May 20, 2020, from Mehasi Branch of Punjab National Bank (PNB) under Mehasi police station in East Champaran District in North Bihar during lockdown. The robbers had covered their faces with cloth  and  looted cash  from chest of the PNB branch located  in the main market of Mehasi.

SDPO, Chakiya, Shailendra Kumar, said  that according to  bank employees five armed criminals riding two motorcycles reached at the gate of the bank and two of them entered inside the bank,  looted cash, and escaped. The criminals had covered their face with  black cloth.

East Champaran SP Navin Kumar Jha reached the bank and inquired into the incident. The SP  directed police to conduct raids to nab the
criminals. Two suspects were caught by the villagers along with a motorcycle  and handed over to police. They are being quizzed  by police.
