Patna : Active cases further dropped to 7,897 in Bihar including 958 in Patna on June 8 as only 711 more persons tested for Covid-19 in the state on June 7, 2021. The count of Active cases in Bihar was 8,230 on June 7, 2021. Bihar also reported 34 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 5,458 in the state on June 8, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients improved to 98.13% in Bihar on June 8 from 98.09% on June 7, 2021.

Meanwhile, the 33-day long lockdown was lifted by Bihar Government on June 8, 20221, after decline in Covid cases though night curfew from 7 pm to 5 am will continue.

The 711 new Covid-19 cases included 66 in Supaul, 65 in Patna, 58 in Purnia, 40 in Gopalganj, 34 in Gaya, 31 in Darbhanga, 31 in Saran, 30 in Muzaffarpur, 24 in Katihar, 23 in east Champaran, 23 in Munger, 23 in Kishanganj, 22 in Samastipur, and 20 in Araria.

Of the 7,14,590 Covid-19 cases reported so far in Bihar, altogether 7,01,234 patients have been declared cured so far.  The state has tested 3,07,76,332 samples so far including 1,03,046 samples on June 7, 2021.

The 34 new deaths due to Covid-19 included 6 in Patna, 5 in Siwan, 5 in Arwal, 3 in Munger, 2 in Saran, 2 in Araria, 2 in Bhojpur, and 2 in Khagaria. With this, the toll climbed to 1,229 in Patna, 295 in Muzaffarpur, 241 in Nalanda, 216 in Saran, 161 in Siwan, 156 in Munger, 155 in Madhubani, 147 in Rohtas, 132 in East Champaran, 132 in Vaishali, 110 in Samastipur, 107 in Bhojpur, 80 in Araria, and 72 in Arwal.
