Patna : Bihar reported 9 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours including 2 in Patna, 2 in Vaishali, 1 in Muzaffarpur, and 1 in Araria, taking the toll to 12,136 in the state on January 16, 2022, A total of 5,410 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 on January 15, 2022, taking tally of Active cases in the state to 35,508 on January 16, 2022, down from 35,916 on January 15, 2022, Altogether 6,325 persons had tested positive for Covid-19 in the state on January 14, 2022.
The 5,410 new Covid-19 cases included 1,575 in Patna, 349 in Samastipur, 333 in Muzaffarpur, 248 in Purnia, 189 in Bhagalpur, 179 in Begusarai, 175 in Darbhanga, 159 in Munger, 148 in Saharsa, 142 in Saran, 142 in Vaishali, 131 in Madhepura, 105 in Banka, 104 in Nalanda, 102 in Bhojpur, 91 in Katihar, 90 in Siwan, 89 in West Champaran, 86 in Kishanganj, 82 in East Champaran, 72 in Rohtas, 71 in Sitamarhi, 68 in Aurangabad, 66 in Arwal, 64 in Madhubani, 60 in Buxar, 58 in Kaimur, 56 in Gaya, 49 in Khagaria, 48 in Gopalganj, 47 in Araria, 45 in Jamui, 41 in Supaul, 36 in Naswada, 30 in Sheohar, 18 in Jehanabad, 11 in Lakhisarai, 10 in Sheikhpura, and 41 from other states, according to State Health Department figure.
Bihar has logged 7,87,127 Covid-19 since the outbreak of the pandemic of which 7,39,482 patients have recovered including 5,800 in last 24 hourswith the recovery rate (RR) improved to 93.95% on January 16, 2022., from 93.85 % on January 15, 2022. The state tested 1,56,659 samples on January 15, 2022.
