Patna : Bihar reported 5 more deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours including 1 each in Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, East Champaran, and Samastipur, taking the toll to 12,141 in the state on January 17, 2022.
A total of 3,526 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 in the state on January 16, 2022, taking the tally of Active cases to 33,122 on January 17, 2022, down from 35,508 cases a day before. A total of 5,400 persons had tested positive for Covid-19 on January 15, 2022.
The 3,526 new Covid-19 cases included 1,035 in Patna, 207 in Muzaffarpur, 164 in Purnia, 152 in Bhagalpur, 143 in Begusarai, 140 in Saharsa, 139 in Munger, 127 in Vaishali, 107 in Madhepura, 96 in Samastipur, 92 in Lakhisarai, 88 in Darbhanga, 87 in Saran, 73 in West Champaran, 71 in Banka,, 68 in Nalanda, 60 in Aurangabad, 56 in Bhojpur, 50 in East Champaran, 47 in Gaya, 47 in Arwal, 47 in Katihar, 44 in Araria, 44 in Siwan, 40 in Madhubani, 38 in Buxar, 36 in Supaul, 32 in Sitamarhi, 30 in Gopalganj, 29 in Kishanganj, 28 in Khagaria, 26 in Jamui, 19 in Kaimjur, 15 in Jehanabad, 11 in Rohtas, 10 in Naswada, 2 in Sheikhpura, 1 in Sheohar, and 25 from other states, according to State Health Department figure.
Bihar has logged 7,90,653 Covid-19 cases since the outbreak of the pandemic of which 7,45,389 patients have recovered including 5,907 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) improving to 94.28% on January 17, 2022, from 93.95% on January 16, 2022. The state tested 1,12,221 samples on January 16, 2022.
