Patna : Bihar reported 352 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, up from 281 cases a day before, taking the tally of Active cases in the state to 1,074 including 542 cases in Patna on January 2, 2022, indicating an alarming spike in the cases. The Active cases count in the state was 749 on January 1, 2022. Bihar, however, did not report any new death due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours and toll is still standing at 12,096.
Bihar has logged 7,27,529 Covid-19 cases so far of which 7,14,358 patients have recovered including 27 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) further slipping to 98.19 % on January 2, 2022, from 98.23% a day before. The state has tested 6,11,79,202 samples so far including 95,875 samples on January 1, 2022.
The 352 new Covid-19 cases included 142 in Patna, 110 in Gaya, 13 in Jehanabad, 13 in Munger, 7in Lakhisarai, 6 in Khagaria, 5 in Muzaffarpur, 5 in Saharsa, 4 in Banka, 4 in Aurangabad, 4 in Samastipur, 3 in Bhagalpur, 3 in Vaishali, 3 in Sara, 2 each in Bhojpur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, nawada, Nalanda, Purnia, Siwan, and West Champaran, and 1 each in Begusarai, Gopalganj, Kaimur, Kishanganj, and Sitamarhi, and 2 persons from outside Bihar.
