Patna : Bihar reported 344 new Covid-19 cases including 160 vases in Patna in last 24 hours, down from 352 cases on January 2, 2022, taking the tally of Active cases to 1,385 in the state including 698 in Patna on January 3, 2022. The Active cases count was 1,074 in the state on January 2. The state, however, did not report any new death due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours with the toll standing at 12,096 on January 3.

Mea while, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on January 3, 2022, launched the vaccination of children in 15-18 years age group at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Sheikhpura, Patna. State Health Minister Mangal Pandey was also present on the occasion.

The state has so far logged 7,27,873 Covid-19 cases of which 7,14,391 patients have recovered including 33 in last 24 hours. The recovery rate (RR) of patients, however, dropped to 98.15% in the state on January 3 from 98.19% on January 2, 2022, dcases ue to large number of new detected in past few days. Bihar has tested 6,12,97,346 samples so far including 1,18,144 samples on January 2, 2022.

The 348 new Covid-19 cases included 160 in Patna, 88 in Gaya, 11 in Muzaffarpur, 9 in Munger, 7 each in Begusarai, Bhagalpur, and  Darbhanga, 5 each in Lakhisarai and Saharsa, 4 each in Jehanabad and West Champaran, 3 each in Nawada, Araria, Madhepura, and Siwan, 2 each in Aurangabad, Khagaria, Gopalganj, Nalanda, Samastipur, and Vaishali, and 1 each in Banka, Jamui, Madhubani,Kishanganj, Rohtas, Sheikhpura, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Supaul, and 3 persons from outside state, according to State Health Department figure.
