Patna : A total of 281 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 in the state including 136 cases in Patna on December 31, 2021, up from 158 cases on December 30, 202, taking the Active cases count in the state to 749 including 405 in Patna on January 1, 2022. The Active cases count was 488 in Bihar on December 31, 2021. The state, however, did not report any new death due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours and toll remained static at 12,096 on January 1, 2022.
Bihar has logged 7,27,177 Covid-19 cases so far of which 7,14,331 patients have recovered including 20 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) slipping to 98.23% on January 1, 2021. The state has tested 6,10,83,327 samples so far including 1,62,459 samples on December 31, 2021. Meanwhile, Bihar has administered 10 crore vaccine doses so far, a record. CM Nitish Kumar reviewed Omicron status in Bihar at a high level meeting on December 31, 2021. Patna has reported one case of Omicron. The patient is a redident of Kidwaipuri.
The 281 new Covid cases included 136 in Patna, 70 in Gaya, 10 in Munger, 8 in Madhepura, 6 in Vaishali, 5 in Bhagalpur, 5 in Jehanabad, 4 in Nalanda, 3 in Nawada, 3 in Rohtas, 3 in Bhojpur, 3 in Bhagalpur, 2 in Aurangabad, 2 in Gopalganj, 2 in Muzaffarpur, 2 in Saharsa, 2 in Samastipur, 2 in Supaul, and 1 each in Araria, Banka, Khagaria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Saran, Sheikhpura, and Siwan, and 7 from outside state, according to State Health Department figure..
