Patna : A total of 1,654 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Bihar on January 27, 2022, up from 1,034 cases on the preceding day, taking the tally of cases recorded in the country since the outbreak of the pandemic in the state to 8,993 cases on January 28, 2022. The Active cases count in the state was 10,321 on January 27, 2022.

Bihar also reported 6 new deaths including 2 in Patna and 1 each in Bhojpur, Kishanganj, Purnia, and Sitamarhi, due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 12,211 in the state on January 28, 2022.

The 1,654 new Covid-19 cases included 221 in Patna, 165in vaishali, 116 in East Champaran, 102 in Begusarai, 98 in Saharsa, 78 in Saran, 69 in Samastipur, 64 in Bhagalpur, 63 in Munger, 61 in Madhepura,61 in Muzaffarpur, 48 in Madhubani, 44 in Purnia, 39 in Darbhanga, 35 in Rohtas,  33 in Gopalgan j, 33 in Sitamarhi,28 in Katihar,  27 in Aurangabad, 27 in Banka, 25 in Buxar, and 18 from other states, according to State Health Department figure.  Bihar tested 1,52,084 samples in last 24 hours.

The state has recorded 8,20,513 Covid-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic of which 7,99,308 patients have recovered including 2,976 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) improving to 97.42% on January 28, 2022, from 97.25% on January 25, 2022.
