Patna : A total of 1,034 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Bihar on January 27, 2022, in a sharp decline from 2,120 cases on the preceding day, taking the tally of Active cases recorded in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic to 10,321 cases on January 27, 2022. The Active cases count in the state was 12,596 cases on January 26, 2022. Bihar reported only 1 new death ( in Gopalganj) due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 12,205 in the state on January 27, 2022.
The new 1,034 Covid-19 cases included 134 in Patna,109 in Samastipur, 74 in Saharsa, 72 in Bhojpur, 53 in Purnia, 45 in Rohtas, 41 in Saran, 40 in Gopalganj, 40 in Madhubani, 32 in Gaya, 28 in Munger, 27 in East Champaran, 27 in West Champaran, 25 in Bhagalpur, 25 in Muzaffarpur, 24 in Araria, 26 in Darbhanga, and 9 from other states, according to State Health Department figure.
Bihar has recorded 8,18,859 Covid-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic of which 7,96,332 patients have recovered including 3,308 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) improving to 97.25% on January 27, 2022. The state tested 82,108 samples on Janjuary 26, 2022.
