Patna : Altogether 49 persons tested positive to Coronavirus (COVID-19) on May 9, 2020, in Bihar taking the total 623 in the state.  Of the 49 persons testing positive to COVID-19 on May 9, fortyfour patients are migrants who had returned to Bihar from different parts of the country.

The samples of 1,383 persons were tested on May 9 at the 7 testing centres in Bihar including RMRIMS, Patna, IGIMS, Patna, Darbhanga Medical College & Hospital, Darbhanga, PMCH, SKMCH, Muzaffarpur, AIIMS, Patna, and JLNMCH, Bhagalpur. RMRIMS tested 642 samples on May 9 of which 26 tested positive while SKMCH, Muzaffarpur,  tested 217 samples of which 3 tested positive. PMCH tested 156 samples while AIIMS, Patna, tested 125 samples. DMCH tested 62 samples on May 9 of which 18 tested positive.

On May 8, 2020,  24 persons had tested COVID-19 positive while on May 7 only 14 persons had tested positive. On May 6, 2020,  only six persons had tested positive to Coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Coronavirus (COVID-19) death toll has surged to 78,794 in USA and 31,662 in UK.
