Patna : With spike continuing at an alarming rate, a total of 11,407 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Bihar on May 2, 2021, taking the tally of Active cases to 1,07,667 in the state including 17,224 in Patna on May 3, 2021. Th state also recorded 82 new deaths on May 3, 2021, taking the Covid-19 toll to 2,821 in the state including 811 in Patna.
The new 11,407 Covid-19 cases included 2,028 in Patna, 1,035 in Vaishali, 662 in Gaya, 653 in Muzaffarpur, 549 in West Champaran, 510 in Begusarai, 499 in Saharsa, 378 in Bhagalpur, 361 in Saran, 356 in Aurangabad, 346 in Nalanda, 304 in Siwan, 297 in Supaul, 294 in Gopalganj, 290 in Samastipur, 286 in Purnia, 211 in Araria, 175 in Munger, 157 in Madhubani, 155 in Madhepura, 148 in East Champaran, 139 in Darbhanga, and 129 in Sitamarhi.
With this, the number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the state so far rose to 5,09,047 on May 3, 2021, of which 3,98,558 patients have been declared cured including 13,603 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) being 78.29%. Bihar has tested 2,66,91,627 samples so far including 72,658 samples on May 2, 2021.
The 82 new deaths recorded in the state in last 24 hours included 24 in Patna, 13 in Muzaffarpur, 6 in Madhepura, 5 in West Champaran, 4 in Nalanda, 3 in Munger, 3 in Vaishali, 3 in Bhagalpur, 2 in Samastipur, 2 in Darbhanga, and 2 in Gaya. The Covid-19 toll climbed to 811 in Patna, 202 in Bhagalpur, 154 in Muzaffarpur, 126 in Gaya, 123 in Nalanda, 102 in Darbhanga, and 101 in West Champaran, on May 3, 2021.
