Patna : The Active cases rose to 4,954 in Bihar including 2,283 in Patna on April 6, 2021, as 1,080 more persons including 486 in Patna, 61 in Bhagalpur, 60 in Muzaffarpur, 54 in Jehanabad, 41 in Gaya, 27 in Darbhanga, 23 in Rohtas, 21 in Aurangabad, 20 in Nalanda, and 18 each in Munger and West Champaran, tested positive for Covid-19 on April 5, 2021. The number of Active cases was 4,142 in Bihar on April 5, 2021.
The 1,080 new Covid-19 cases recorded in Bihar on April 5, 2021, also included 17 in Vaishali, 16 each in Purnia and East Champaran, 14 each in Sheikhpura and Kishanganj, 13 in Nawada, 12 each in Araria and Buxar, 11 each in Saran and Siwan, 10 each in Jamui and Gopalganj, 9 each in Saharsa, Madhubani and Bhojpur, 8 in Arwal, 7 each in Madhepura, Samastipur, and Supaul, 6 each in Sitamarhi and Katihar, 5 each in Banka and Begusarai, and 4 in Kaimur.
With it, the Covid-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar jumped to 2,70,392 cases on April 6, 2021, of which a total of 2,63,849 patients have been declared cured including 267 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) dropping to 97.58% from 97.87% on April 5, 2021. Bihar has tested 24110325 samples so far including 81,314 samples on April 5, 2021.
The Covid-19 toll increased to 1,588 in Bihar on April 6, 2021, with 2 new deaths being recorded in the state in last 24 hours including 1 each in Patna and Bhagalpur. With this, the toll climbed to 469 in Patna and 85 in Bhagalpur.
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on April 6, 2021, reviewed Covid-19 situation in the state with DMs and SPs of different districts via video conferencing. The CM stressed on strict compliance of Covid guidelines including use of masks and more tests. Nitish also directed for arranging quarantine centres at block level across the state as the people working outside might return. He also directed for finding reasons behind spike in Covid cases in the state.
