Patna : A total of 4,737 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Bihar including 2,566 in Patna on January 9, 2022, down from 5,022 persons testing Covid-19 positive in the state on January 8, 2022. With it, the Active cases count jumped to 20,938 in the state on January 10, 2022, up from 16.897 cases on January 9, 2022. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has also tested positive for Covid-19.
Bihar recorded 5 new deaths including 3 in Patna due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 12,,106 in the state including 2,795 in Patna on January 10, 2022.
The 4,737 new Covid-19 cases included 2,566 in Patna, 291 in Muzaffarpur, 141 in Gaya, 133 in Nalanda, 120 in Bhagalpur, 99 in Jehanabad, 91 in Saharsa, 90 in Begusarai, 85 in Samastipur, 79 in Darbhanga, 75 in Aurangabad, 67 in Saran, 60 in Bhojpur, 57 in Munger, 53 in Madhepura, 51 in West Champaran, 50 in East Champafran, 50 in Vaishali, 41 in Araria, 39 in Madhubani, 38 in Siwan, 37 in Sitamarhi, 36 in Supaul, 36 in Rohtas, 32 in Arwal, 32 in Gopalganj, 30 in awada, 30 in Kishanganj, 30 in Katihar, 29 in Lakhisarai, 22 in Banka, 20 in Purnia, 12 in Khagaria, 7 in Buxar, 7 in Sheikhpura, 6 in Sheohar, 5 in Kaimur, and 31 from outside Bihar, according to State Health Department figure
Bihar has logged 7,50,137 Covid-19 cases so far of which 7,17,092 patients have recovered including 691 in last 24 hours. The recovery rate (RR), however, further dropped to 95.59 % on January 10, 2022, from 96.11 % on January 9, 2022, due to large number of new cases being reported daily for the last several days. The state tested 1,51,475 samples on January 9, 2022.
