Patna : Active cases further dropped to 3,803 in Bihar including 390 in Patna on June 17 as only 385 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 in the state on June 16, 2021. Active cases count was 3,990 in Bihar on June 16, 2021, with 370 persons testing positive for Covid-19 on June 15, 2021. Bihar also reported 4 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 9,527 in the state on June 17, 2021. In an important development, a total of 6,62,507 persons were vaccinated against Covid-19 in Bihar in last 24 hours.
The 385 new Covid-19 cases registered in Bihar included 40 in patna, 35 in Purnia, 28 in Gopalganj, 22 in Darbhanga, 20 in Madhubani, 19 in Madhepura, 18 in Samastipur, 17 in Katihar, 15 in Saran, 15 in Supaul, 12 in Siwan, 1 in East Champaran, 10 in Bhagalpur, and 10 in Vaishali.
Bihar has tested 3,17,70,039 samples so far including 1,13,525 samples in last 24 hours. Of the 7,18,704 Covid-19 cases reported in the state so far, altogether 7,05,373 patients have already been declared cured including 568 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) improving to 981.5% on June 17 from 98.12% on Juune 16, 2021.
The four new deaths due to Covid-19 included 1 each from Saharsa, Siwan, Kishanganj, and Madhubani. With it, the toll climbed to 324 in Madhubani, 164 in Siwan, 131 in Saharsa, and 66 in Kishanganj.
