Patna : A total of 260 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Bihar on June 29, 2021, an increase of  70 cases over June 28, 2021. Active cases, however, further dropped to 1,756 in the state on June 30 from 1,831 on June 29, 2021. Bihar recorded 4 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 9,588 in the state on June 30, 2021.

Bihar has so far recorded 7,21,914 Covid-19 cases of which 7,10,569 patients have been declared cured including 331 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) improving to 98.43% on June 30 from 98.42% on June 29, 2021. Bihar has tested 3,32,06,104 samples so far including 2,05,085 samples on June 29, 2021.

The 260 new Covid-19 cases included 32 in Patna, 18 in Saharsa, 18 in Saran, 15 in Lakhisarai, 14 in Madhepura, 13 in Khagaria, 13 in Purnia, 10 in Darbhanga, 10 in Nalanda, 9 in Nawada, 8 in Bhagalpur, 8 in Muzaffarpur, 8 in Gopalganj,  8 in Katihar, 7 in Samastipur, 7 in Vaishali,  6 in Madhubani, 6 in Supaul, 5 in Begusarai, and 5 in Siwan.

The 4 new deaths due to Covid-19 included 1 each in Madhubani, Samastipur, Saran, and Buxar. With it, the toll climbed to 331 in Madhubani, 253 in Saran, 182 in Buxar, and 151 in Samastipur.

Meanwhile, Bihar will soon have a Cancer Hospital and Research Center at Muzaffarpur with a 100 bed hospital at a cost of Rs 300 crore.
