Patna : Active cases count further declined to 203 in Bihar including 34 in Patna on August 17, 2021, as only 21 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 in the state on August 16, 2021, up from 14 the day before. Active cases count was 212 in Bihar on August 16. Bihar did nit report any new death due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours and the toll remained static at 9,649.
Bihar has logged 725518 Covid-19 cases so far of which 715665 patients have been declared cured including 30 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) being 98.63%. The state has tested 3,98,30,005 samples so far including 1,33,137 samples on August 16, 2021. The 21 new Covid-19 cases included 4 in Patna, 2 in Samastipur, 2 in Gopalganj, and 2 in Muzaffarpur, according to State Health Department figure.
Meanwhile, State Health Minister Mangal Pandey on August 17, 2021, dedicated to the people sophisticated equipment worth about Rs 3 crore installed at Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, IGIMS, Patna.
