Patna : Active cases jumped to 1,05,400 in Bihar including 16,125 in Patna on April 30, 2021, as 15,853 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 across the state on April 29, 2021. Bihar had registered 13,089 new Covid-19 cases on April 29, 2021. Bihar also registered 80 new deaths on April 30, 2021. State Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Singh, a 1985 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer, died due to Covid-19n at a private hospital here on April 30, 2021. He was scheduled to retire in August 2021. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar mourned Arun Kumar Singh expressing his profound grief over his death.

The new 15,853 Covid-19 cases included 2,844 from Patna, 1,203 from Gaya, 881 from Nalanda, 786 from Begusarai, 638 from Muzaffarpur, 613 from Purnia, 573 from West Champaran, 500 from Samastipur, 490 from Mdhubani, 457 from Saran, 443 from Bhagalpur, 436 from Aurangabad, 406 from Siwan, 391 from Supaul, 348 from Gopalganj, 346 from Madhepura, 328 from Saharsa, 315 from Vaishali, and 305 from Jamui.

The fresh Covid-1 cases also included 280 from Katihar, 274 from Rohtas, 270 from Khagaria, 251 from East Champaran, 219 from Araria, 213 from Darbhanga, 191 from Munger, 178 from Lakhisarai, 177 from Jehanabad, 162 from Kishanganj, 151 from Sheikhpura, 150 from Nawada, 150 from Sitamarhi, 138 from Bhojpur, 131 from Kaimur, 129 from Arwal, 89 from Buxar, and 71 from Sheohar.

With the addition of15,853 new cases, the number of Covid-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar rose to 470317 on April 30 of which 3,62,356 patients have been declared cured including 11,194 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) dropping to 77.05% from 77.27% on April 29, 2021. The state has tested 2,64,33,890 samples so far including 98,169 samples on April 29, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll jumped to 2,560 on April 30, 2021, with 80 new deaths being recorded in the state in last 24 hours including 26 in Patna, 9 in Muzaffarpur, 9 in Bhagalpur, 6 in Nalanda, 4 in West Champaran, 4 in Gaya, 4 in Darbhanga, 3 in East Champaran, 2 in Rohtas, 2 in Siwan, and 1 each in Munger, Purnia, Samastipur, Sheikhpura, Supaul, Madhepura, Madhubani, Araria,  Banka,  Begusarai, and Jamui.

The Covid-19 toll climbed to 735 in Patna, 188 in Bhagalpur, 128 in Muzaffarpur, 117 in Gaya, 107 in Nalanda, 93 in Darbhanga, 83 in Munger, 75 in West Champaran, 70 in East Champaran, 52 in Rohtas, 50 in Madhubani, 47 in Samastipur, 45 in Banka, 42 in Begusarai, 31 in Madhepura, 31 in Purnia, 27 in Araria,  and 16 in Jamui. ,
