Patna : Active cases further dropped to 14,250 in Bihar including 1,658 in Patna on June 1, 2021, from 16,235 cases the day before, as only 1,174 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 in the state on May 31, 2021. Bihar recorded 59 new deaths in last 24 hours taking the tally to 5,222 in the state on June 1, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients further improved to 97.25% in Bihar on June 1 from 96.97% on May 31, 2021. Meanwhile, Bihar on June 1, 2021, received 100 Oxygen Concentrators from Unicef. State Health Minister Mangal Pandey thanked the Unicef for the help.
Of the 7,07,935 Covid -19 cases reported in the state so far, a total of 6,88,462 patients have been declared cured including 3,100 in last 24 hours. Bihar has tested 3,00,18,943 samples so far including 1,08,347 samples on May 31, 2021.
The 1,174 new Covid-19 cases included 132 in Patna, 72 in Purnia, 64 in Begusarai, 62 in Katihar, 57 in Munger, 56 in Muzaffarpur, 44 in Nalanda, 44 in Supaul, 40 in Gopalganj, 39 in Saharsa, 38 in Saran, and 34 in Siwan.
The 59 new deaths due to Covid-19 reported in last 24 hours included 15 in Saran, 5 in Madhubani, 4 in East Champaran, 4 in Kishanganj, 3 in West Champaran, 3 in Sheikhpura, 3 in Vaishali, 3 in Katihar, 2 in Patna, 2 in Purnia, 2 in Siwan, 2 in Araria, and 2 in Jamui.
With it,the Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,205 in Patna, 290 in Muzaffarpur,208 in Saran, 184 in Darbhanga, 145 in Madhubani, 142 in Siwan, 140 in Rohtas, 138 in Munger, 132 in Begusarai, 126 in East Champaran, 126 in Vaishali, 85 in Banka, 80 in Buxar, 72 in Araria, 68 in Purnia, 50 in Arwal, 48 in Katihar, 44 in Jamui, 42 in Gopalganj, 39 in Sheikhpura, and 31 in Kishanganj.
