Patna : The Active cases jumped to 69,868 in Bihar including 16,547 in Patna on April 22, 2021, as a total of 11,489 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 in the state on April 21, 2021. Bihar had logged 12,222 new Covid-19 cases on April 21, 2021,

The new 11,489 Covid-19 cases included 2,643 from Patna, 945 from Gaya, 602 from Muzaffarpur, 530 from Begusarai, 498 from Aurangabad, 441 from Saran, 387 from Bhagalpur, 354 from Purnia, 348 from West Champaran, 309 from Nalanda, 285 from Siwan, 255 from Saharsa, 239 from Munger, 236 from East Champaran, 216 from Supaul, and 197 from Vaishali.

The new cases also included 194 persons from Khagaria, 187 from Gopalganj, 179 from Madhepura, 179 from Madhubani, 177 from Samastipur, 173 from Nawada, 166 from Arwal, 164 from Katihar, 161 from Bhojpur, 155 from Rohtas, 152 from Jehanabad, 151 from Sheikhpura, 146 from Araria,  128 from Buxar, 108 from Jamui, 104 from Lakhisarai, 93 from Sitamarhi, 76 from Kishanganj, 60 from Banka, 49 from Sheohar, and 47 from Kaimur.

With this, the number of Covid-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar jumped to 3,65,770 of which a total of 2,93,945 patients have been declared cured including 5,308 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) further dropping to 80.36% on April 22 from 81.47% on April 21, 2021. Bihar has so far tested 2,56,42,999 samples including 1,01,063 samples on April 21, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,956 in Bihar on April 22, 2021, with 59 new deaths being reported in the state in last 24 hours including 9 from Patna, 8 from Bhagalpur, 5 from Gaya, 4 from Darbhanga, 4 from Muzaffarpur, 3 from Munger, 3 from Nawada, 3 from Vaishali, 3 from Banka, 2 from Jehanabad, 2 from Nalanda, 2 from Madhepura, 2 from West  Champaran, 2 from Samastipur, 2 from Saran, 2 from Gopalganj, and 1 each from Sitamarhi, Siwan, and Bhojpur.

The toll jumped to 556 in Patna, 136 in Bhagalpur, 91 in Gaya, 74 in Muzaffarpur, 72 in Munger, 71 in Saran, 70 in Nalanda, 61 in Darbhanga, 56 in Vaishali, 56 in Bhojpur, 43 in Jehanabad, 36 in West Champaran, and 33 in Banka on April 22, 2021.
