Patna : Active cases further dropped to 9,627 in Bihar including 1,153 in Patna on June 5 as only 1,007 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 in the state on June 4, 2021. The Active cases count was 10,308 in the state on June 4, 2021. Bihar recorded 21 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 5,340 on June 5, 2021.
The 1,007 new Covid-19 cases reported in the state included 83 in Supaul, 71 in Patna, 67 in Munger, 54 in Msdhubani, in Madhepura, 49 in Nawada, 48 in Darbhanga, 43 in Siwan, 41 in Purnia, 38 in Samastipur, 37 in Muzaffarpur, 35 in Katihar, 35 in Saran, 34 in Gopalganj, and 31 in East Champaran. Bihar has tested 3,04,64,240 samples so far including 1,13,880 samples on June 4, 2021.
Of the 7,12,197 Covid-19 cases registered so far in Bihar, a total of 6,97,229 patients have been declared cured till date including 1,667 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR ) improving to 97.90% on June 5, 2021.
The 21 new Covid-19 deaths included 4 in Patna, 2 in Madhubani, 2 in Nawada, and 2 in Begusarai. With this, the toll climbed to 1,215 in Patna, 239 in Nalanda, 187 in Gaya, 151 in Madhubani, 138 in Begusarai, 130 in East Champaran, 129 in Vaishali, 107 in Nawada, 105 in Samastipur, 87 in Madhepura, 86 in Sitamarhi, and 76 in Supaul.
