Patna : Bihar on March 22, 2020, recorded its first novel Coronavirus (COVID-19 death.  Two persons had detected COVID positive in Bihar of which one from Munger District died. With Gujarat also recording first COVID-19 death in the state, the death toll due to the disease in India increased to 7 at 6.30 pm on March 22, 2020. Maharashtra has reported two deaths while Bihar, Karnataka, Delhi, Punjab, and Gujarat have recorded one death each due to COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the total number of Coronavirus positive cases in India has climed to 360 including  41 foreigners and 24 those who have been cured/discharged/migrated. Maharashtra has recorded 67 cases including 3 foreigners followed by Kerala with 52 cases including 7 foreigners. Delhi has reported 29 confirmed cases including a foreigner while Gujarat has reported 18 cases. Karnataka has reported 28 cases while Rajasthan has reported 24 such cases, according to Union Health & Family Welfare Ministry.
