Patna : Bihar Government has vested more power in the office the Director General of Police (DGP) by bringing in all the Divisions of Police Headquarters (PHQs) under it to ensure its efficient functioning. The DGP will be the Head of Police Headquarters. All Non-Field Posts have been brought under Police Headquarters.
All the divisions of police headquarters including Bihar Police Academy Division, HRD & Training, , Military Police & Sports Division, CID & Weaker Section Division, Intelligence and Security Division, Prohibition Division, Law & Order Division, Economic and Cyber Crime Division, Establishment and Legal Division, Personnel and Welfare Division, Modernisation, Crime Record & Provision Division, Operations ( STF & Anti-Terrorist Squad) Division, have been brought under DGP to bring cohesion in the functioning of police headquarters. The DGP will distribute works among all the Divisions.
A three-member committee headed by the DGP and comprising ADG, Law & Order, and IG, Police Headquarters, will give its recommendation regarding the reorganisation of all the Divisions of the Police Headquarters and their efficient functioning within a month. The Home (police) Department issued a Resolution in this connection on November 25, 2019.
