Bihar Govt. transfers 22 IPS officers, Upendra Sharma made SSP, Patna, 5 officers promoted to DIG rank

Patna :In a major reshuffle in police administration, Bihar Government on January 1, 2019, transferred 22 IPS officers including ADG, Railways, and SPs of East Champaran, Siwan, Munger, and Vaishali. DIG, Shahabad Region, Rakesh Rathi (2002 batch), has been promoted to IG rank. Five 2006 batch IPS Officers including SSP, Patna, Garima Malik were promoted the rank of DIG. East Champaran SP Upendra Sharma, a 2008 batch IPS officer, has been appointed as SSP, Patna. Home (police) Department issued a notification to this effect on January 1, 2020, itself

Siwan SP Navin Chandra Jha, a 2009 batch IPS officer, has replaced Upendra Sharma as SP, East Champaran. Abhinav Kumar, City SP (West), Patna, a 2009 batch IPS officer, goes to Siwan as its new SP. Munger SP Gaurav Mangla, a 2013 batch IPS officer, has been shifted to Vaishali in the same capacity. Vaishali SP Jaggunnath Reddy, a 2013 batch IPS officer, has been appointed SP, Rail, Patna.

SDPO, Barh in Patna District, Lipi Singh, a 2016 batch IPS officer, has been appointed as SP, Munger, in her present payscale. SDPO, Danapur in Patna District, Ashok Mishra, a 2016 batch IPS officer, has been appointed City SP( West), Patna, in his present payscale.

ADG, Railways, Amit Kumar, a 1994 batch IPS officer, who was also holding additional charge of ADG, Law & Order, has been appointed ADG, Law & Order, Bihar. Sushil M Khopde, a 1995 batch IPS officer and IG ( Operations) also holding additional charge of IG, Anti-Terrorist Squuad (ATS),  has been appointed ADG ( Operations) with additional charge of ADG, ATS, upgrading the two posts to ADG rank.

IG, Mithila Region, Pankaj Kumar Darad, also a 1995 batch IPS officer, has been appointed ADG, Railways, while IG, Magadh Region, Paras Nath ( 1996 batch), has been appointed IG ( Budget, Appeal, and Welfare) with additional charge of IG, BMP.

IG, CID, Ajitabh Kumar ( 1997 batch), has been appointed as IG, Mithila Region. He will be relieved after approval of High Court. IG ( Prohibition), Ratna Sanjay Katiyar ( 1998 batch), has been appointed IG ( Weaker Sections), CID. IG, Amrit Raj ( 1998 batch), who was waiting for posting, has been appointed as IH ( Prohibition) with additional charge of IG, Special Vigilance Unit.

DIG, Shahabad Region, Rakesh Rathi, has been promoted to IG rank and appointed IG, Magadh Region. DIG, Easter Region, Bhagalpur, Vikas Vaibhav ( 2003 batch), has been appointed DIG, ATS, Bihar. DIG, BMP, Central Division, Patna, P Kannan (2005 batch), has been appointed DIG, Shahabad Region, Dehri-on-Sone.

SP, Weaker Sections, CID, and Women’s Cell, Anusuiya Ransinh Sahu ( 2006 batch), has been promoted and appointed DIG, Wireless & Technical Services, Bihar. SP, Railways, Patna, Sujit Kumar ( 2006 batch), has also been promoted to DIG rank and appointed DG, Eastern Region, Bhagalpur. SP, State Crime Record Bureau, Siddharth Mohan Jain (2006 batch), has also been promoted and appointed as DIG, Administration, with additional charge of DIG, BMP, Central Division, Patna.

SSP, Patna, Garima Malik ( 2006 batch), has been promoted and appointed as DIG, CID, while SP, State Vigilance Investigation Bureau, Patna, S Premlatha (2006 batch), has been promoted and appointed DIG, Lokayuktta Office, Bihar.
