Patna : Bihar government on April 27, 2017, increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of the state government employees, pensioners and family pension holders by 4 %. The state government employees would now get a DA of 136 % with effect from January , 2017. A decision to this effect was taken by the state cabinet at its meeting held on April 27.
This would be applicable to those employees and pensioners getting revised payscale as per 6th Pay Commission recommendations. It would put an additional burden of Rs 561 . 3 crore annually on state exchequer, said a senior officer of Cabinet Secretariat department.
For a small number of employees, pensioners or family pensioners still getting salary, pension as per the recommendations of 5th Pay Commission, the government increased their DA by 11 %.
