Bihar govt alert army over flood situation

Patna: Principal Secretary, Disaster management department,Vyasji, on Saturday said army has been alerted to remain ready to help the civil administration to meet  crisis situation in flood affected areas. The IAF has been requested to  arrange its helicopters to air drop food packets in the flood hit rural areas. Vyasji said four companies of NDRF have been stationed at Bihta and moved to the flood-hit areas. Five more companies of  NDRF has been called from Chennai, he said and added Ganga would continue to rise for the next five days.
