Bihar Governor Tandon unveils life-size statue of former PM Vajpayee

Motihari : Bihar Governor Lalji Tandon on December 25, 2018, laid foundation of ‘Cattle Breeding Improvement Centre’ at a function organised at Dr Rajendra Prasad Central Agriculture Science Centre, Piparakothi, in East Champaran district in North Bihar, under ‘National Gokul Mission’, a project of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Animal Husbandry, Dairy & Fishery Department, Government of India.

Governor Tandon, who was Chief Guest at the function, also unveiled a life-size statue of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The Governor said that he was privileged to unveil the first life-size statue of Bharat Ratna Vajpayee in Bihar. He also dedicated ‘Atal Dwar’ to the nation on the occasion.

Describing former PM Vajpayee as a great champion of farmers, Governor Tandon said that the former PM had started the  ‘Kisan Credit Card Yojna’. He said that the third Agriculture Roadmap of the state government had given a big push to the green revolution in Bihar. He also stressed on the development of organic farming on the occasion. Tandon asked the agriculture scientists to develop a zero budget formula for development of agriculture.

Union Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Department Minister Radhamohan Singh, and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, State Tourism Minister Pramod Kumar, and Dr Sanjay Jaiswal, MP, Paschimi Champaran, were prominent among those present on the occasion.
