Bihar governor lauds mass marriage programmes

Patna : Bihar governor Ram Nath Kovind on June 18, 2017, said that mass marriages were necessary for the society as they check huge expenditure incurred on marriages. Mass marriages would also check dowry system, he said while attending a mass marriage programme at S K Memorial Hall, Patna, organised by Maa Vaishav Devi Seva Samiti, as the chief guest.

The governor said that mass marriage programmes should be organised in different parts of Bihar. He said that the positive results of prohibition were now visible across the state and now we should make efforts to end dowry system, a social evil.
