Patna:  Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Tuesday told the leaders of different parties that the existing Bihar excise and prohibition Act
may be amended in the coming winter session of the state legislature beginning November 25.
Addressing a meeting of leaders of different parties at legislature library hall, Nitish said the recommendations and suggestions of the
leaders would be discussed in the session.  The government had received some suggestions from social workers at Samvad on November 14. These suggestions too would be incorporated in the proposed amendments. The CM admitted there had been some problems in enforcement of prohibition since April this year.

The BJP was represented by its state president Mangal Pandey and leader of opposition in Bihar assembly Prem Kumar, CPI by  Kedarnath Pandey, MLC, Congress by its legislature party leader Sadananad Singh, HAM(S) by former chief minister Jeetan Ram Manjhi, and CPI(ML) by Sudama Prasad at the meeting.
From the government side deputy chief minister Tejeshwi Yadav, Ashok Chaudhury, Madan Mohan Jha, Abdul Bari Sidiqqui, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, all ministers, chief secretary Anjani Kumar Singh, DGP P K Thakur, principal secretary, Home and excise, Amir Subhani were present.
