Patna: Bihar cabinet on Friday sanctioned Rs 450 crore for rural drinking water schemes in 38 districts of which Rs 391 crores would be spent in the arscenic affected 14 districts. The government will spend Rs 61 crore on installation of 10897  sustainable handpumps in the the villages.
According to another cabinet decision, Rs 243 crore was allotted for the execution of Mahadalit Mission projects which would be continued to 2017-18 also.Under the national secondary school education campaign, Rs 133 crore was sanctioned. The Cabinet decided to implement a directive of Patna High Court and a transparent procedure for appointment of members of district consumer forums would be issued soon.There were 17 items on the meeting.
