Patna : Bihar Cabinet, at its meeting held on November 20, 2018, approved the education department’s proposal to give Rs 200 per month as medical allowance to the pensioners and family pensioners who retired from all government colleges and universities of the state. According to Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat Department, Upendra Nath Pandey, they would get medical allowance with effect from August 1, 2014. The Cabinet Meeting was chaired by CM Nitish Kumar.
The State Cabinet also approved creation of two posts – Additional Registrar, District Judge (Entry Point), and Research Officer, Civil Judge (Senior Division) – for better supervision of matters relating to juvenile justice at an annual expenditure of Rs 33.22 lakh as proposed by General Administration Department.
According to sources, the Cabinet also approved a hike in the salary, allowances and perks of legislators and ministers. The quantum of the increase would be tabled in the State Legislature first. It approved the second supplementary budget of over Rs 10,463 crore for 2018-19. It would be tabled during the five-day winter session of the State Assembly starting from November 26, 2018.
