Patna : Bihar Industries Association (BIA) on July 1, 2018, felicitated 55 eminent doctors of the state at a function organised on its premises to mark the Doctors’ Day. All the 55 doctors were presented with shawl each and citations.

The doctors honoured by the BIA included Dr C P Thakur, Dr S N Arya, Dr Gopal Prasad Sinha, Dr R N Singh, Dr Jitendra Kumar Singh, all Padma Shri, IGIMS Director Dr N R Biswas, AIIMS Patna Director Dr P K Singh, Dr Manju Gita Mishra, and Dr Shanti Rai.

Addressing the function, Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey sought co-operation from the doctors in improving the quality of medical education in the state. He felt that there has been slight decline in the quality of medical education in the state and the government has been making efforts to improve it.

State IMA President Dr Sahjanand Prasad Singh urged the doctors to follow the ideals of Dr B C Roy. Dr Thakur also recalled the contribution of Dr Roy to the medical field as well as politics. BIA president K P S Keshri urged the doctors to always remember their responsibility to the society. VC, AKU University, Dr Arun Agrarwal, urged the young doctors to develop professional skills.
