Ara : Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar on April 19, 2020, late evening, suspended MT Sergeant Rakesh Kumar Singh with immediate effect for dereliction of duty after a 25 year old man, a resident of village Rampur under Krishnagarh police stationĀ in Bhojpur district, tested Coronavirus positive the same day.
The infected person along with two of his friends had come from New Delhi to Ara via Kanpur and Balia in Uttar Pradesh and was admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital since April 18, 2020. The doctor had sent their swabs to Patna for pathological examination. Principal Secretary, Health Department, Government of Bihar, Sanjay Kumar, has confirmed that one of them had tested Coronavirus positive on April 19, 2020, evening though the pathological test of two others were found negative. The confirmation by the Secretary, Health Department, has put the Bhojpur district administration in a tight spot.
Bhojpur DM Roushan Kushwaha said that all the 24 persons who had come in contact with the Coronavirus infected person are quarantined at a hotel and officials of the Bhojpur district administration and doctors are keeping round the clock vigil. He said that their swabs would be sent to Patna for pathological test. The DM added that members of 8 families, 8 health employees, and some police personnel from the policeline have been identified for pathological test.
The DM further said that theĀ district administration in inquiring who were were the persons the Coronavirus infected person had come in contact with. The DM ordered to seal the Rampur village under Krishnagarh police station.
