Ara : Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar on June 23, 2020, suspended a Sub-Inspector (SI) Wahid Ali posted at Gadhani police station (PS) in Bhojpur district with immediate effect for allegedly demanding money to help a party in a case and release the accused from the police custody.
Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar said that a video went viral in the social media showing the SI Wahid Ali demanding Rs 10,000 from a resident Barap Tola under Gadhani police station for helping him in a case and realising the accused three days ago. When a man lobbying for that person requested the SI to settle matter by taking Rs 3,000, the SI asked him to get bail from court.
The SP said after the video went viral on the social media, he took serious note of it and suspended the SI with immediate effect. He directed SDPO Ajay Kumar to inquire into the matter and added the voice sample of the SI will be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for test and if the allegations against him were found correct,stern action would be taken against him.
