Ara : Bhojpur SP Rakesh Kumar Dubey has suspended eight police personnel of Cross Mobile under Ara and Nawada police stations for dereliction of duty. Police also arrested 11 gamblers and seized 7 mobiles, 7 motorcycles, a Register, coupons, clock, board calculator, tickets, plastic chairs, Rs 27,155 cash and other materials.
The arrested gamblers were identified as Rajneet Paswan of Sritola, Bali Kumar, Udham Kumar Paswan of Bahiro, Kedar Sah of Anaith under Nawada police station, Laxman Prasad of Bihia Ward No 14, Md Qasik, Md Imtyeyaazuddin of Kazi Tola, Sonu Kumar of Ward No 28 at Rouja, Himalay Kumar of Ward No 33 at Dharahara, Md Islam of Ward No 26 at Abarpul, and Md Chunnu of Ward No 26 at Rouja under Ara town police station.
Bhojpur SP Rakesh Kumar Dubey said that he got information that guessing and gambling centres were running at different places such as Bahiro, Government quarter on the bank of canal under Ara town police station, Moti Tola, and Rouja locality under Ara town police station in Ara. He formed a police team under DSP (Probation) Jitesh Pandey that conducted raids at guessing centres at different places under Ara and Nawada police stations and arrested 11 gamblers. He said that during raids, involvement of police personnel of Cross Mobile was also detected and so he suspended 8 police personnel of Cross Mobile with immediate effect.
