Bhojpur SP serves notice on SHO

Ara: Bhojpur police sealed a house at Panchchhim Toal-Tari Mohalla locality and a motorparts shop, Bhawani Motors, just in front of the Woman police station in the Old Policeline-Maulabagh locality under Town police station on Thursday. The police also sent a proposal for attachment of property of Sanjay Singh and Jitendra Singh, who were arrested with liquor, to the District Magistrate, Bhojpur.
The action is being taken under section 68 G (amended) of Bihar Excise Act. The action was taken after the police recovered 82 bottles of foreign liquor from these places on July 5 and also arrested two liquor sellers: Jitendra Singh and Sanjay Singh, and Bhojpur SP Kshatranil Singh served a show cause notice on the SHO, Town Police Station, asking him why action should not be taken against him. The liquor was brought from Jharkhand and Utter Pradesh.

Police also arrested Pradeep Kumar of Shivpur locality under Town police station in connection with a scuffle with some persons of the locality in a drunken state late Thursday evening. He was brought over to Ara Sadar Hospital for medical examination through breath analyzer that detected 215 ml of liquor in his body. Later, police forwarded him to jail. An FIR has also been lodged with Town police station against two persons under the New Excise Act on the statement of one Shobha Devi of the locality.
