Bhojpur SP asks SHOs to stop eve teasing at Ara

Ara: In view of rising incidents of eve teasing near girl schools, colleges and even at temple site at Ara, Bhojpur SP Kshatranil Singh directed SHOs of all the police station to arrest those found teasing or passing vulgar comment on girls. The SP recently had a meeting with the ward councillors of Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC) to seek their cooperation in checking crimes and illegal trades going on in Ara town.

The ward councillors informed the SP that the girl students faced difficult time on way to their schools, colleges and coaching centres daily due to eve teasing. If any girl dares refuses to give her mobile number to them, the miscreants   threatened them also and chase up to their houses, the ward councillors informed the SP. This ugly scene is frequently seen from 10am to 4pm near girl schools and colleges and also near a temple at Ramna Maidan.

The SP has also ordered the SHO, woman police station, Poonam Kumari to intensify patrolling near girl schools and colleges and also depute police personnel near the schools and colleges in civil uniform. He ordered has asked the SHOs of Town police station and Nawada police station to co-operate with her. The SHO woman police station has started patrolling in and around the girl schools and colleges and also deputed police personnel in civil uniforms there. At least half a dozen cases of eve teasing were lodged with the woman and Nawada police stations in July itself and police arrested have two eve teasers so far.
