Bhojpur SP asks SHO, Nawada, to inquire into plight of minor girl

Ara : Bhojpur SP has directed SHO, Nawada police station, Ara, to investigate into an alleged plan to forcibly marry a minor girl against her wishes after a video went on social media about it. Bhojpur SP has ordered SHO, Nawada police station, to investigate into the matter and take necessary action at the earliest. A named FIR was lodged on November 13, 2019, by Nawada police station against a youth in this connection on the statement of the mother of the girl.

SHO, Nawada police station, said that the girl, a student of Class X, is a resident of Jagdeonagar locality under police station  and a youth of the locality always teased her and threatened to make her vulgar video and make it viral on social media. The youth succeeded in making a video of the girl in which she requested the Bhojpur SP to help her as her family members had fixed her marriage on November 22, 2019, with a person twice her age against her wish, and posted it on social media.

As the video reached the Bhojpur SP, he took strong note and ordered the SHO Nawada police station to investigate the matter and take appropriate action. Meanwhile, the mother of the girl reached Nawada police station and lodged a named FIR against a youth of her locality alleging that he frequently teased her daughter and forced her to make vulgar video. She further said that the girl is minor and they are not even thinking about her marriage. The SHO further said that even the girl confirmed that the youth compelled her to make a vulgar video threatening her with dire consequences.
