Ara : Bhojpur police with the help of their Jharkhand counterpart recovered a married woman and her minor son and also arrested her friend from Gandhinagar locality, Ranchi, in Jharkhand and brought them over to Ara on October 26, 2018. Police brought the woman to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for medical examination and also produced her before the court to get her statement recorded under Section 164 of CrPC.
SHO, Nawada police station, said that an LIC agent R K Gupta of Anaith locality under the police station married to a woman of village Farhangpur under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district in 2014 and has a two year old son. R K Gupta also taught students at Saguna Mor, Danapur, in Patna district. His wife disappeared from the house on July 30, 2018, along with her son. R K Gupta filed a complaint case in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ara, alleging that his wife had extra-marital relation with one Shankar Singh and so he shifted to Ara along with her and son but their contact continued.
On the direction of the court, an FIR was lodged with Nawada police station on October 10, 2018. The SHO, quoting the FIR, said that Shankar Singh had kidnapped R K Gupta’s wife with jewellery worth about Rs 2 lakh and Rs 25,000 in cash. The SHO said that R K Gupta had caught her wife red handed with Shankar Singh and so he shifted to Ara from Patna.
