Bhojpur police recover kidnapped child, 2 kidnappers arrested

Ara : Bhojpur police recovered a three year old child and also arrested his kidnappers including a woman in the wee hour on November 9, 2018. The arrested persons were identified as Rohit Kumar alias Bengali Kumar, son of Madhesh Singh of village Gadhaha under Udwantnagar police station, and Radhika Devi, wife of Mantu Yadav of Rupchakia under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district. Police handed over the child to his parents and sent the kidnappers to jail.

Bhojpur SP Aditya Kumar said that Raj Kumar Singh, son of late Visheshwar Singh of village Gadhaha under Udwantnagar police station, informed SHO, Udwantnagar police station, in writing that his nephew Shivam Kumar, son of Jai Kumar Singh, was kidnapped while playing outside the house. The SP said that he took it seriously and he himself along with police force conducted raids at Gadhaha immediately and arrested Rohit Kumar alias Bengali Kumar of the village.

During interrogation, Rohit Kumar confessed his involvement in the kidnapping and on his revelation, police recovered the child beneath an overbridge on Zero Mile under Udwantnagar police station and also arrested Radhika Devi, wife of Mantu Yadav of Rupchakia under Chandi police station, the SP said.

The SP said that the arrested miscreants confessed that they kidnapped the child  for ransom but police arrested them before they could demand ransom. The SP said that the miscreants would have killed the child.
