Ara : A named FIR was lodged against 17 persons including two Ward Councillors and husbands of four other Ward Councillors on the statement of an SI posted at  Ara Town Police Station (PS), Neeta Kumari, under Prohibition & Excise Act, Arms Act, and also for violating Covid-19 protocol. All of them were arrested on May 26, 2021, late evening, from a rave party in Bhaluhipur locality, Ara, headquarters of Bhojpur District. The FIR was lodged in for conducting rave party.

Ppolice brought all the arrested persons over to Ara Sadar Hospital for medical examination and produced them before an Aral Court.  Only four persons Raj Kumar, Dilip Rajak, Prabhu Dayal, and Ajay Kumar were confirmed having consumed liquor. Later, police sent 16 of 17 named accused to jail.

It may be mentioned here that on the direction of Bhojpur SP Rakesh Kumar Dubey, a police team conducted raid at a house of Ward Councilor, Ward No 31, Ara,  Himanshu Sinha, located in Bhaluhipur locality under Ara Town PS on May 26, 2021, late evening and arrested 17 persons including two Ward Councillors, husbands of 4 other Ward Councillors, when they were attending rave party while a former Ward Councillor managed to escape. Police also seized one regular rifle, 133 live cartridges, 15 mobile phones, four bottles of IMFL,  and Rs. 7.5 lakh cash from the spot.
