Ara : Police have foiled a plot to kill the newly elected Mukhia of Ratnadh panchayat under Gadhani police station (PS) in Bhojpur District in South Bihar Vinod Chaudhary and arrested two persons including the husband of a defeated Mukhia candidate and recovered one countrymade pistol, three live cartridges, three mobile phones and a motorcycles from their possession. Police sent them to jail after interrogation and lodging of a named FIR against them for murder conspiracy and also under Arms Act.

The arrested persons were identified as Ranjeet Chaudhary of village Ratnadh and Narendra Pandit of village Belaur under Udwantnagar PS in Bhojpur District. Ranjeet Chaudhary is husband of a defeated Mukhia candidate. They confessed their involvement in the conspiracy during interrogation.

Bhojpur SP Vinay Tiwari said that he got information that some miscreants had hatched a plan to kill newly elected Mukhia of Ratnadh panchayat under Agiaw block Vinod Chaudhary and were waiting for him in a bush near Dhamania Bridge after which he directed the SHO, Gadhani PS, who along with police force conducted raid near Dhamania Bridge and arrested Ranjeet Chaudhary and Narendra Pandit.  Police seized a countrymade pistol, three live cartridges, three mobile phone and a motorcycle from their possession.

The SP further said that Vinod Chaudhary was declared elected for the post of Mukhia from Ratnadh panchayat defeating the wife of Ranjeet Chaudhary. After the defeat, Ranjeet Chaudhary met Narendra Pandit of Belaur village and allegedly hatched plan to kill Vinod Chaudhary. To execute their plan, they hid themselves in a bush near Dhamania Bridge and were waiting for Vinod Chaudhary. They knew that Vinod Chaudhary would return home through that route after taking victory certificate from Ara. But, police arrested them just in time and foiled their bid.
