Bhojpur police file chargesheet against 3 persons in September 2018 gang frape case

Ara : Bhojpur police on January 29, 2019, submitted chargesheet in the court against three persons including a woman  in connection with rape of a teenage girl after dragging her out of the train. One of the named accused is, however, still absconding,

SHO, Women’s police station, Ara,  Poonam Kumari, said that a teenage girl of Hasanbazaar locality under Hasanbazaar Police Outpost in Bhojpur district was coming to Ara in the evening on September 22, 2018, by a train but a co-villager Chhotu alias Mantosh Chaudhary, who was also traveling by the same train, forcibly dragged her out of the train at Gadhani railway station where his friends : Anurag Chaudhary, Dabloo Mahto, and a woman Urmila Devi were waiting.

Later, they took the girl to a crematorium at Hazanbazaar in a four- wheeler where they gangraped her and fled away from the scene, the SHO said. The girl, somehow, reached home and narrated her ordeal before her family members and then a named FIR was lodged with Women’s police station. Police arrested Mantosh Chaudhary alias Chhotu, Urmila Devi, Anurag Chaudhary but Dabloo Mahato is still absconding.

The SHO said that ‘Ishtehar’ (proclamation notice) has been pasted on the wall of Dabloo Mahto’s house and process is on to attach his property.
