Bhojpur police bust inter-dist gang, 8 criminals arrested

Ara : Bhojpur police busted an inter-district gang of criminals and arrested its eight members including the kingpin Bottle Mahto. Police forwarded them to jail after interrogation.

The arrested notorious criminals were identified as Bottle Mahto, son of Ravishankar Mahto of village Ratnadh village Garhani police station, Nandan Kumar, son of Rajendra Singh of Dariyapur under Dhobaha police Outpost, presently living at K G Road under Nawada police station, Ara, Manish Singh alias Hero, son of Anil Singh of Bindgawa under Koewlar police station, Raju Prasad, son of Munib Singh of Manoharpur under Itadhi police station in Buxar district, Gudan Kumar, son of Dwarika Rai of Gajadharganj under Buxar Town police station, Appu Kumar Thakur, son of Upendra Thakur of Belaur under Udwantnagar police station, Chandan Kumar, son of Vishnu Dayal of Majhaua under Ara Town police station and Akshay Kumar Sharma.

Police had arrested seven of them from Patna while Akshay Kumar Sharma was arrested from Sasaram in Rohtas district on December 23, 2017, evening. Police also seized a 9mm pistol, one 7.65 mm pistol, three live cartridges of 9mm pistol and six mobile phones from their possession.

Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar said that Bottle Mahto along with his aide had fired at the house of Asha Devi at Chaukhambha Gali under Town police station, Ara, on December 20, 2017. Though she survived but her pet was killed. Asha Devi is the  mukhia of Karwasin panchayat in Bhojpur district. She had filed an FIR with Town police station, Ara,  against five persons including notorious criminal Bottle Mahto. Bottle Mahto had come out of Ara jail on bail about 10 days ago.

Bottle Mahto and his associates were going to Patna after firing in Buxar in a land dispute. A Bhojpur police team chased them and with the help of their their Patna counterpart conducted raid at the house of Hari Krishna Prasad at Abhiyantanagar, Bailey Road under Rupaspur police station, Patna, and arrested seven criminals including Bottle Mahto from a rented house where they lived on December 23 evening and brought them over to Ara.

The SP said that at least 31 cases of murder, extortion and loot were lodged with  different police stations in Bhojpur, Buxar and Rohtas district against Bottle Mahto,13 cases against Nandan Kumar and 3 cases against Manish Singh alias Hero.
