Bhojpur police arrest main accused in Padminia gang rape case

Ara : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, on February 9, 2018, arrested the main accused in the case of gang rape of a minor girl at village Padminia under Krishnagarh police station Rakesh Yadav alias Chhote Yadav, son of Suresh Yadav, near old collectorate Civil Court Road, Ara, and forwarded him to jail.

Police had earlier arrested Krishna Yadav. Three accused:  Guddu Yadav, son of Shankar Yadav, Rahul Yadav, son of Fagu Yadav, and Sureman Yadav, son of Dhuri Yadav, had surrendered before the court and were sent to judicial custody. One Mithilesh Yadav, son of Kuer Yadav, is still absconding and police are searching to arrest him.

SHO, Woman Police Station, Ara, Poonam Kumari said that police laid trap near Old Collectorate Ara and Civil Court Road under Town police station and arrested the main accused Rakesh Yadav for outraging modesty of a teenage girl at village Padmania. Some people heckled police and even had scuffle with them to get Rakesh Yadav free but in vain.

The SHO said that six persons had gangraped a teenage girl at Padmania on January 31, 2018, when she had gone in the open to attend call of nature. They also videographed the whole incident and threatened the girl to make it on the social media if she dared divulge the matter to anyone. Later, the accused escaped from the scene leaving the girl in the field.

Rakesh Yadav confessed that he along with others had outraged the modesty of the girl to take revenge as the girl had earlier allegedly abused him.
